I'm having a water leak at the rear window repaired, and while we are in there we are going to replace the rear package tray which was water damaged on one corner.

The guy at the shop, as well as other posts I searched for here, suggest that the original color should be black, but we have owned this car since 1970 and this panel has been painted white the entire time. The car is Honey gold with black vinyl top and the trim code is F6 which I guess is the pony interior.

The door tag lists the vehicle as a DSO (special order?) for Philadelphia. Is it possible that this car as ordered this way? Otherwise, what color should it be. Dash and carpet are black, which matches the trim code.

Thanks,

Bryan

A white interior with black trim would most likely have a black package tray. Spend the extra $10 and get the "show correct" version.

The "show correct" version...you are referring to the the one with the masonite/fiberboard? That's what the one I pulled out was made of.
