I need some help! i've been messing around with fixing my loose shifter and can't get the stick of threads that pass through the floor tunnel to the linkage connecting to the AT. I've pulled the console, shifter plate, t-bar, and nut which connects the stick to the shifter linkage, etc but I can't work the stick free. I've wd 40'd it, used a rubber mallet on it et al but it won't break free.
Help - what should I do? I'd appreciate some advice.
Thanks!

I've never seen one that didn't respond to forceful left-right-left-right wiggling.

Try penetrating oil. WD40 is not penetrating oil!

True. "WD" stands for "Water Displacing". I use it inside doors, etc, to keep the pinchwelds from rusting.

PB Blaster, now, that'll penetrate.
