Has anyone fabbed their own mounts. I am thinking of using the 66 mounts and modifying them to lower the engine the 1 inch vs buying 65 mounts. The mounts look weaker. And $300 for adjustable mounts is ridiculous.

65 and 66 mounts will both come apart under the same amount of load. Its just cheap rubber melted to metal.

There are 'plans' out there to copy the Ron Morris and TCP style lowered motor mounts. I couldn't be bothered and bought a set of the RM's. motor is 1/2in lower and 1/2in back and slid a nudge to one side to clear the headers.

Much more than 1/2in and you'll hit the centre link or crossmember.

I too cut down and used Rubber leaf spring inserts instead of the poly they came with. Helped with vibration.
