I just recently purchased some repo arm rests from the coupe and I wasn't very happy with the quality of the chrome base and the vinyl insert. I was wondering if the lower screw holes, the screws that attached the base to the door frame, are the same spacing on the latter models. If they were that would allow me to use one of the latter years rests that don't have the chrome bases. Anybody tried this?

I can't say for sure on the '67/'68, but the '69s definately won't work. They use 3 bolts instead of 2 and would look goofy anyway, since the door handle is inside of the arm rest (you'd have this big goofy looking hole).

If that's not enough to persuade you not to do it, the '65/'66 repro parts, no matter how bad, look fantastic next to 99% of the '69 repro stuff. The '69 repro stuff is pretty much all crap. My '69 arm rests won't even fit flush with the door because they're made completely wrong.
