I'm debating replacing my worn out early 67 hinges with the repro steel hinges. Do the newer hinges have the same footprint as the older ones? My car was repainted and if I buy the new hinges will they cover up the exact same spot on the door jambs or will I need to touch up the door jambs if I install new hinges?

The repro ones for my '66 were pretty much an exact duplicate of original.

I replaced the bottom driver side hinge when I got my son's 67 coupe. The stop pin was sheered off flush before I bought it. I plan on repairing it some day, but for now, I just put a replacement on. I wasn't worried about paint, but the new one looks maybe slightly larger than the old one where it mounts to the body. I kind of like the new design better. It does hold the door well and provides a positive stop.

I took some pictures and wrote it up here: https://bapony.com/2019/03/02/replacement-door-hinge/

Thank you! Thats exactly what I was looking for! I don't mind painting the new hinges, I didn't want to have to repair the paint on the newly painted door jambs. Now I just need to figure out what hinges to get.
