Just went out to look at my 68's grill and it a semi-gloss black, but its also 33 years old.

68 fastback, 390 4V premium fuel
80 5.0 hatch, just finished
91 5.0 coupe, daily driver
84 RamCharger 4x4 extreme mudsliger and winter junker

It seems like I read somewhere that the standard grills in '67 were "blued" similar to firearms. I'm not positive on that one and I haven't received the new one I ordered last week. Mine is original and what's left of it has lost it's finish.

Maybe someone else can confirm.

Like most Mustang grills everyone thinks they were semi-gloss black. Well at least that is what we thought when were were "restoring" them in the 70's

Blue grey originally as Charles listed

A close match would be Ditzler DDL 32930 or Duplic color 99-01106 (a bit shinny)
