Hi guys, I have a 67 mustang with manual steering and I am in need of a new gearbox as mine has about 6 inches of play. The car was built in January 1967 and the tag says SMB A. Can anyone point me to an affordable remanufactured one as I am having trouble finding that exact model.

While that seems like a lot, have you followed the Ford Shop Manual procedure for adjusting the box? I'd be willing to bet proper reset of the bearing preload would eliminate half that, and the sector preload most of the rest. It may require new bearings if they are damaged or badly worn.
Word of caution- Following the procedure to the letter is important. Doing it by feel or intuition can destroy the gearbox.

I'm sure we have one.
If you call, please call next week. We are on a short vacation.
