I have a 1967 Mustang Fastback 390, 4spd car. It did not have the transmission or shifter when I purchased the car.

I since have a newly rebuilt transmission and recently found a correct BB 4spd shifter mechanism without the shifter stalk, linkage or offset plate. I also found the correct cross member.

Is the shifter linkage different between a 289 and a 390 motor?

Thanks,

Bob in lovely Wisconsin

If you plan on actually driving the car then I strongly urge you to get a Hurst shifter.

Night and day difference over the stock shifter.

So far as I know that linkage is specific to the big block. Check out Mansfield Mustang for some good pics of FE specific parts.
