I am in the process of restoring a 67 Coupe (289, 2V) that has been sitting for 10yrs or so. I know that I am going to have to have the vehicle's emissions tested (I live in CO) and was wondering what, if any emissions equipment the vehicle needs to have on it.

Current exhaust is shot, so I assume I'll need to get that in order before testing...was also wondering if having headers as opposed to stock manifolds would make a difference in the testing?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Mike

I'm not familiar with CO laws guess I could call my brother ;) so my question to you is, do they do a sniffer, visual or both. If it is a visual then you may have to have all the "factory" emission system in place. To determine that they may use on of two ways

1. Check the DSO on the door tag - if it has a 71 or 72 they may require a complete Thermactor (smog pump) system

2. The may check to see if there was any emmission system on the car original and if there is an evidence they will require a full Thermactor system

You need to find out and plane accordingly based on need and if you car about originallity. Hopefully one of our CO participants will know what you can expect

Hope this helps a bit

Are you sure there is any factory emissions crap in 67? I have a 67 coupe and dont remember seeing any major emmisions components when I disassembled it. I guess it really depends on where you live and what the rules are.
