Ouch on that price....without a flat plane crank I would much rather get a 460 crate engine for half the cost(a bit more than half by the time its trimmed out):

Understandable. I wouldn't want the weight or the 5600 rpm redline though. Everyone is different. 580hp and shifting at nearly 8000 rpm sounds cool to me and if money wasn't a thing I would do it. You can find them for under $19k:LOL:. I will end up with a 2nd or 3rd gen takeout from a GT for $6-7k.

Appreciate all the information and discussion. I definitely agree they doing the voodoo swap it’s far from the easiest and cheapest! especially when you compare it with the 5.0. but I still going to do it. The wiring scares the crap out of me but I’m hopeful that I can find someone To build a custom harness from the stock one as this it the one part of the build I’m not personally Confident about completing.
I really am starting to consider the rod shop spec chassis. Plan on giving them a call next week.

90% sure on fastback conversion as well

I look forward to this build. I came very close to buying a wrecked GT-350 myself for my build. Ended up with Gen 3 Coyote. Mine is a 65 so room is even less than your 67.
Next spring, I may be on one of those big boats that cruises past, I'll wave as I go by.
