Going to change out the power steer ram and control valve in my 67. One of the vendors suggested using a 68 setup as they are not as prone to leaking and are a better make. Any comments or personal experience in this area? Will their be any surprises by changing like the pwr steering hose connections being different to the pump? Any help would be appreciated. (I do have my original control valve and ram and considered having them rebuilt)

Thanks...Terry /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

I think your vendor is blowing smoke. The 67/68 control valves are exactly the same except for the pressure line coming from the pump has a larger fitting than does the 67. The ram is the same 67 or 68.

I am assuming that with the pressure line having a larger fitting this would mean I would have to have a different pump?

Seems to me that rebuilding would be the way to go...
