I have a 6cyl 200. The air breather looks like it needs a snorkel attached to it..and I am told it came with one. I understand that it also came with a heat riser that was probably attached to an exhaust shroud...does any body have a picture or spare parts to complete this ? If you have a six cyl...how is yours set up?
Thanks

Yes, a heat riser flange bolts to the exhaust pipe below the air cleaner. Pre-heater aluminum hose is supposed to attach to a flange on the exhast pipe and run up to the bottom of the air cleaner. I had that flange at one time...hmmm Didn't have any performance value so out it came /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Hi, mine is a sport sprint and doesn't have any place on it for a snorkle it is just a round air cleaner. John

My 67 I6/200 just has a simple round air filter and none of the stuff connected to it as shown on your picture. Was that correct for 67? So many things on my car are out of spec that I never know. Where did that picture come from? I'd sure like to have one like that for my 67!

Randy, I scanned it out of a Ford motor manuel a while back and put the pic up on my website.

Supposedly that is the setup for 67-68. The 65-66 were supposed to have the air cleaner with no junk attatched.

I will double check my motor manuel and get back with you at lunch!

I checked and the manuels I have show this setup as a 67-68.
Later,

Doug

I have one, it's called a 'closed system' I believe. check out the 1968 shop manual for info on it. the oil cap had a male extrusion and a hose attatches from the oil cap to the air filter ...
