I'm looking to put the shift linkage in. I've heard on some applications that the stock shift linkage can be reused. If it cannot what would be the best route? Buy a new linkage or fabricate one? If I have to buy a new linkage who makes the best one? Best bang for the buck w/o to much hassle?

Background Info-
I'm running a 289 with an AOD (unsure of the year/make/model)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I went with Mustangs Village linkage kit. There was another one sold out of Maryland, but iirc, you needed to modify the kick down as well. I tried both, and picked the Mustangs Village solution. I kept the stock linkage and shifter as well

Is the shift lever on your AOD pointing up or down? With the stock shifter I'm pretty sure pointing up is the easiest to hook up. I'm going to use some 1/4" heim joints and some all thread and cut to length/ adjust. Similar to a throttle rod.
