I’m out here enjoying Christmas Eve and trying to mount some new doors on my coupe. I ordered these door mounting plates for the hinges and ran in to some trouble. The top hinge plate went in easy. However, this bottom plate has a metal tab that is keeping me from being able to slide the mounting plate into place. Anyone have any tips? The shop book I have doesn’t go into that much detail. I just want to make sure I don’t need that tab before I get rid of it.

Merry Christmas
Kyle

Tilt it out so it misses the tab that's bent out then give it a shove down using a drift stuck in the middle hole. It'll snap down in place and the tabs will hold it there so it doesn't drop into the bottom of the door.

It looks right to me. It should slide over the bottom tab and under the top one. both tab should fit in the boot-shaped cutout.
