68 Coupe to 69 Mustang custom conversion
I am new to the forum. So please don’t kill my typing skills. Or photograph skills.! Lol! I am pleased to share a very special project to me! It is a 68 Mustang coupe that will be converted to a 69 Custom Fastback. I am attempting a tall build for my 15 year old Son! He has kept a toy 69 Fastback since he was 7 years old! So he challenged dear ol Dad to build him his dream car. I come from a long history of Car enthusiast,Body by fisher employee ,& 74 year old Vietnam Veteran! Not to mention Car restoration Father! Well anyhow here are a few pictures of our progress. We aren’t going for a Sema car. But a nice driver for a 16 year old. It will go threw a full body modification to a 69 Fastback. With a tasteful modern style drivetrain. Thanks for reading my post! Hope it’s something people will try in the future! I highly recommend any metal savvy fabricator to give it a try! If you really are 74 I commend you on the labor effort, having a 15 year old son and forgive for forgetting how old you are. Great work on the car

My father is the 74 year old Vietnam Veteran and Body by fisher employee. Meaning didn’t you come from your father? So did I. Just to clear that up. Since I’m guessing it struck a nerve.

Please don’t take this the wrong way? But are you following the post for the CAR? Or are you wanting to know Who I AM? Or are you here for a grammar lesson? Not going to get that from here. My sentences have nothing to do with how I build my cars!? Not only that. I’m posting from a cell phone. You guys are asking things not related to building or customizing this car! All I’ve heard from the start is how stupid something sounded! Now a lot of you are eating crow. To be clear my father is 74 correct. He also helped on this build. Along with my brother and 1. So three men built this car.

We are interested in your car. It's a very unique build. But at times it's tough to follow what your are trying to convey or say in your postings. No one here is trying to be critical of you. We're not here to correct your grammar or spelling. We all mess up our spelling and grammar at times. I find myself bad about doing typo's sometimes and I can't totally blame my phone/tablet's auto correct feature. Lol. So please, don't be upset if people don't understand what you're trying to say or get things wrong about you or your car.

One piece TMI headliner is ordered . I will have a custom hat rack built to finish off the interior. I’ll keep you guys posted as work is completed. This build is coming together nicely. Same with the door glass. I will post pictures as they are completed. To be continued…..

No I’m actually not going for a high end build. It’s for my Son. And we are customizing the kick panels as well. I’ll let the interior guy tackle that. Just used left over paint to shoot the old pieces ,But if that’s the only knock is a busted KICK panel. I’ll keep kicking! 😂
