My 68 cp had a vinyl roof out of the factory. When I bought it the vinyl was gone and roof painted. Getting ready to paint it myself so I removed front and rear glass and the remains of the vinyl under the window rubber.
Noticed a thin stainless strip in the bottom of the roof gutters wiyh vinyl under it. Removed st strip, remains of vinyl, rust and crud under it.
Question.....Does anything other than paint go in the gutters of a coupe without a vinyl roof? Thanks, Tom

There should be seam sealer caulk inside the gutter groove where its smoothed over the welds. Original caulk would get dry and crack so you'd have to grind it out and replace it. Without it in there, not only do you not have a sealed joint, but the welds would make a lumpy looking area inside the gutter.
