In my 68 mustang coupe my door hinges are shot. I’m not sure if they are oem so debating getting new from cj pony parts. Anyone have experience with them and not crap?
Fits 68 Mustang & Cougar (will fit 67 if stamped steel 68 hinges are used) 4 machined hinge pins 4 machined steel tubes 8 oil impregnated bushings 4 stainless steel washers 4 zerk fittings Detailed instructions DOES ALL FOUR HINGES CLICK HERE FOR INSTRUCTIONS Here is the secret to how to get...
With the steel tube welded in place, a void surrounds the hinge pin between the two bushings. All you have to do is drill a hole through the hinge pin so the grease can get to the center of the pin. Note the small hole in the side of the hinge pin. That is where…
Scrub ebay and Craigslist, etc. for these, new, that someone is trying to get rid of.
For example, I bought a bunch of parts from a Mustang place that bellied up. Among the stuff was a box of 50 upper Right hinges. I paid $1 each for them, and it took quite a while to get rid of them, and $10 each on ebay was what moved them out. The list is over $50 each.
Its funny I have never had an issue with cj pony. Probably just luck and it will eventually fade. Caved and bought cj's dont have a welder and figured while on sale I should snag them.
