A while back there was a discussion about 68 steering wheel pad trim, pad shrinkage etc. A frequent complaint/issue was fit of the repro chrome plated pad base. The OE part number is C8AA-3D754-A. The chrome wears off the plastic. The repo part is in some cases curved too much (don't know if all repos have the problem). This is a repo rework issue. If you have excellent original parts...not a problem.

I developed a way to use the repo trim C8AA-3D754-A, anyone interested PM me. This rework adresses both the repo part curve and the shrunk pad.

I did not have any problems with the repro parts on my 68 wheel.

Great! A while back many also reported problems...also adresses shrinking pad. Apparantly you are also blessed with un shrunk pad!
