my '68 glued on mirror on windshield dropped off yesterday and have couple questions. the mirror holder has 2 clamshells that are tightened to hold a ball on the mirror and one on the glued on part. these are tough to tighten so they stay in place but could be done with little more effort. major problem is inside mirror case is what looks like a spring assembly that ends up making the mirror kind of floating and when moving causes it to vibrate significantly - i suspect the purpose is to reduce vibration stress on the glued on portion since the clamshells are about 2 inches long. does anyone else have this setup and is there a way to reduce vibration? if not guess i will have to go with modern glue on replacement.
