Might have a chance to check out a maybe Shelby. Other than the easy to fake parts what should I look for to help confirm or deny that it is the real deal. The little info that I have over the phone is a 68 GT 350 partially disassembled. Thanks for any help.

Very early 68 cars carry a dual serial number stamped on the shelby tag on the drivers fender (shelby and ford number). Later cars just have the Shelby number.

body buck tag is attached with a single sheet metal screw to the pass side inner fender panel and should indicate either shelby or SA (for Shelby American).

Ford VIN stanped in drivers side inner fender covered by the shelby plate, on the id plate at bottom of winshield, rivited to driver door edge, etc.

If it's a GT350, the 5th digit should be a 'J'

I'll be happy to forward the info from the Shelby Registry on the car (hopefully) showing previous owners, dates, options, condition, etc..

good luck.
