I was just wondering if the braces that go from the shock tower to the cowel, mount on top of or underneath the lip of the cowel

thanks

Correctly installed cowl to shock tower braces mount underneath the cowl lip. That is the way the Ford engineers designed it and 99.99% of all 67-68 junkyard and unrestored Mustangs that I have pictures of have them mounted underneath the cowl lip. As a matter of fact just a few weeks ago, I took off 2 points on 1 concours trailered 67 at the Stars, Stripes, and Stangs MCA show for the braces improperly mounted.

BTW, the export brace is different; it mounts on top of the cowl lip.

Regards,

Ooops, you're right, of course. I double-checked my photos of my coupe before we tore it down and the braces go below the cowl lip. The picture from my website has them on top, but I guess we were going too fast putting everything back together. Funny no one caught it at Kansas City or Pensacola. I'll be correcting that problem this weekend. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
