Could someone with a 69/70 that has a monte carlo brace measure across the engine bay from one side to the other? (preferably from one shock tower to the other, on the part that "sticks out" farthest on each side) I measured mine, but I don't have a mc brace, so I'm sure it's kind of "sagging." TIA.

Its easier than that. Buy one and if it fits your in good shape. If it does not fit, rent a body jack or have your local body and frame shop install it.

Well, I'm not ready at all for the brace, I just need to know the maximum amount of space I have in there without going with the Mustang II setup. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif (after body work is done, I'm going to begin a "junkyard" twin turbo setup, and just checking out how much room I have.) Thanks.

I went out and measured my '70. I measured in front of the M.C. bar. This about 2" in front of shock towers. It measures 39 7/8". This is with motor in, and with Export Brace installed.
