Had a little discussion with a club member on the 351W heads. To my knowledge the 2V & 4V engines designate the carb application & the heads are the same on both motors. The 2V had dished pistons & the 4V had flattops with valve reliefs to gain the extra compression. Is this far from the truth?

I'd say you squatted just about in the middle of it Greg...*G*

IME, I have not seen any discernable difference in those heads....

The basis for my race car engine is actually a '69 4V W....I still have the original heads sitting stripped on the shelf in the shop....

If there's anything you need to know about them, just ask...

Thanks for asking that one. I have a 69 M code Mach and had the same question about a year ago but never asked. I have to locate a 69 block since mine had a 74 Windsor in it when I got it. going back original. I still havent fired the new engine up, but that was one of the little nagging questions still up in my head. BTW, where in the Great South Land are you, there are a few of us down here, I'm near Jackson Mississippi.
