Having a little trouble on my sisters 69 Mach 1 with 351w 4bbl holley carb on edelbrock manifold. Car has C4 automatic and for some reason once it runs to operating temperature and shuts off the car is very hard to start afterwards and when you do get it started and try to put it in gear, the car dies. She has a spacer under the carb but it doesn't seem to help.

Any ideas how to correct the problem?? ::

Not sure what your sis's car has electronically because you haven't told us, but it sounds like the car is vapor locking at the carb, and the culprit could be that spacer. Don't rule out a head gasket either. We really need more info on the car and it's setup.

Also... if it points to a vapor lock... try to check all your fuel lines heading to the carb. Make sure they aren't touching radiatior hoses... manifolds... headers.... etc. Anyhting that is hot. It may be boiling the fuel in the line.
