I too want REAL FIRST HAND knowledge of satisified customers that he restored the wheel for you. Did you have any problems? Waht the color and woodgrain texture correct? Is the silver small tape located on the outside perimeter correctly done?
Please forum members, give us your feedback.
Now to the lesser side:
This customer had a bad experience with "rimblowbuddy" , does anybody have a similar bad experience just like this fellow did?
I would like to know as well.
Which of these rim blow wheels is the closest to original finish?
Let's hear your opinions then I'll let you know who restored each one.
Number 1 & 2 - (Ebay Seller, vicatz1), item 170105049325 (no more resto's untill spring)
Number 3 - Rim Blow Buddy, David Prine www.therimblowbuddy.com/page/page/458615.htm
Number 4 - (Ebay Seller, best in show steering wheels) item 140181012865, old name was 1957gus)
Number 5 - (Ebay Seller, cmore350) item 260184974978
Number 6 - www.gtford.com.au
Number 7 - my original
Number 8 - my original
Number 9 - (Ebay Seller,ggt500) Pony Warehouse, Bill Herndon http://users.erols.com/ponywarehouse/
It seems that the wood grain effect is the problem to reproduce. My thoughts are that number 1 & 2 would be close to original if the grain was finer.
On a rim blow I have seen restored here (by Dash Original), the groove was not cleaned out to size properly and the clear coat turned yellow after a year or so. It was kept in a cupboard all that time.
Any other opinions or photo's of the wood grain effect?
