Had a reply to this thread indicating that I should contact: [email protected] as he was an expert in 6H 289 engines.
I played along on an email thread with him until he said he would ship the engine via USPS, which we all know can't happen. I told him I would rather come pick it up and pay cash.

He also indicated a phone number of 530-572-1437 which is a google number.

We block and kick those people ALL the time. Sometimes several a day, as soon as someone sees them. Not sure how repeating their contact information helps, but OK. Did you see THE STICKY? Safe to assume you didn't read it?

No dice, it's an early '67 May 15 casting with an assembly date of June 17 '67. I may nick-name this engine the dream crusher. I originally bought it from a Chevy guy who claimed it was a 289 5 bolt from a '64 Comet K code, which he sent me a picture the cars VIN and it was, the engine tag was correct too. I was looking for a D code for a Mustang, and the Mercury K code is the same with a bigger carb, (not a K code Mustang)

Opps, engine assembly date might be a light stamp E17, not F17, May not June. Either way, no good for either of our applications.

There is a date code 6K4 block on EBay currently, item #165302173067, it has a casting code of C5AE-6015-E.

I realize this casting code is the '65 code, but the casting date is 6K4, '66 October 4th which is the month after your last listed date so you may need to take a closer look at the C5AE blocks for your date. The listing unfortunately doesn't have a good picture of the assembly stamp, but it would be later than what your looking for based on the casting date.
