I am going to look at a 1970 Coupe tomorrow, It is a registered California car and is totally in pieces . The guy that has it says it is totally rust free, nothing to repair except interior and do the painting. At present it is in pieces and has been sanded down to bare metal. 302 2V, Automatic, consol , and matching numbers..What do you guys think would be a fair price..??? I know what it cost to redo one as I just finished my 69 and have started on the 65, but this one is all apart and has to be put back together and painted etc..Any ideas would be appreciated.

I would think $1500 to $2000 of it truly is like he described. Also because it is in California. If it were up here in the Boston Area, I'd tack on 1000-1500.

Recently bought one similar to what you describe. Wasn't sanded down, but it was all together and I drove it home. Paid $1000. Beat him down from $1700-he was hurting for cash.
