I was working on my latest find, 73 Mach 1, trying to find out why the horn didn't work. I found the fuse for the horn to be missing. When I went to install one and as soon as the fuse made contact with the fuse block the horn sounded continuously. What are the possible causes. Horn relay stuck? Any suggestions appreciated.

the horn switch on the steering wheel has contacts that are strips of copper glued to the flexible wheel pad and the rubber cover you push. It is probably the strips coming loose.

It is POSSIBLE it could be the turn signal switch, but not likely.

you dont have a relay in the 73

What style of steering wheel? Two spoke or three spoke? If it's a two spoke, it's possible there's just something crossed inside the wheel. Take off the screws from the back of the pad, pull off the pad and check it with an ohmmeter.
If it's a three spoke "rim blow" then it's most likely a short inside the rubber switch mechanism. These are pricey and rare but not impossible to find.
Let us know what you find!
Thanks,
Doug
