Is there a car at a bone yard that I can get an 8" posi out of? I wanna get one for my 66. Thanks - chris

They are hard to find.I got mine out of 1971 Mav so check them.And many MustangII's had then until about 1976or77.Also check Mustangs up to 1968.Or even Falcon's.Good luck it only took me 4 years to find one.

I have also heard that lots of V8 Mavericks had 8" posi's. I haven't found any yet to verify this...

V6 or V8 Mustang IIs are the most common source I've found. But like any good stuff in a junkyard, if you snooze, you lose. Go here for a list of body tag rear end codes:

By pure stroke of luck I found one in a 68 Ranchero. The best thing I can tell you is learn to recognize an 8 inch and stick your head under everything FoMoCo you can find. Middle 60's to middle 70's. Worked for me.

I got mine out of a v-6 Pinto wagon. It was a stock car with wood grain on the side. Why it had a posi I do not know, but is was original equipment.
