I'm in the process of swapping my open carrier and ring and pinion for a traction lock and 3:55 gears. I have a difference of .006 between the centerline of the bearing saddle and bearing race o.d. Is this excessive? I would have thought it would have been closer to .002-.003. That being said I'm looking at starting my pinion depth with a .020 shim instead of a starting point of .015. Any thoughts? Thanks Richie

Just finished up the rear last night I was able to get within .001 from my suggested pinion depth with .017 shim. I'm happy with the pattern 20200404_160003.jpg
