I am acquiring a factory '66 am radio-8-track. Are there manuals available that cover installation? I understand a larger hole is required in the dash, and I also want to make sure the wiring is correct. Also, can anyone inform me as to the correct speakers and grills to use with the 8-track. I am replacing an original am radio, and I have the standard interior, including door panels. Any help, or directions to help, would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Your best bet would be the factory shop manual. I know the 68 manual I have shows radio and tape player mounting, and the schematic section shows all wiring with colour codes and plugs. Good luck on your installation, that is a nice option to have. Now you just need some Beach Boys tapes.

the 8-track installation calls for door speakers and the speaker on the dash is deleted. You can buy the right door wiring harnesses with the speaker wiring made into it. Then, there is a harness for the plug ups into the speaker wiring.

the shop manual doesnt help much with this info.
