I'm replacing the center section on a 9" rear. And a long time ago I heard someone say that they didn't use a gasket when installing the pumpkin. That all they did was use a bead of silicone around the edge. Can you do this? When I've replaced a pumpkin, I've always used a gasket. But I don't have one laying around now. So can I use silicone or do I make a run to a parts store?
