We all make this decision almost everyday, sometimes more than once. Today I had to make it twice. The decsion you ask? Well it's the decision to go or stop at a yellow light.

Today, driving home I hit the first light, it turned yellow and I stomped the gas thus, making the light. Saw a cop right after that, so I thought I better be more careful. 3 lights later I came to a light at an intersection that occurs after a hill. Only in this backwards state would they put a stoplight here....

The light turns yellow. I now have a millisecond to decide if I can make it, and once you make the decision you've gotta stick with it. There is no hitting the brake then stepping on the gas or vise-versa. My wife drives like that /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

So I stop. Then I look in my rear-view mirror and see a fast approaching Dodge Ram commanded by a unaware, slurpy swigin, honkey tonkin cowboy. I knew I was in trouble. I saw the honkey tonkin cowboy toss his slurpy and mouth the words "oh [censored]." So by the time I heard those Ram tires lockup I was on the gas. My poor Regal was using all 3.8L of it's high-mileage engine to "chirp" the tires and run the light. This cause the Ram to avoid hitting me.

Moral of the story? Run the yellow! It may save your life!

Damn good thing you saw him coming. That's one of the reasons my first stang met its demise. Except I got hit by a Ranger. :(

http://my67heven.tripod.com/emsm.gifI was looking for a restoration of fantasy. I do not want my car to be as it was in 1967. I want it to be as I imagined it in 1967. -John Baird

BEEN THERE!!!!! I was stopped at a light in my 4Runner when a lady drinking from one of those 44oz superGulps looks over her drink at 35MPH to see me stopped at a red light. She slammed on her brakes and all I had time to do was say "Fu..." then BAM! She hit me, hard!, 'caused $7000 worth of damage to my truck and totaled her car. What did she have to say " I couldn't see around the cup..." Dumb Ass.
