First, thanks to everyone for the nice words about how my engine rejuvenation project is coming out. Clearly, I could not have done it without the knowledge obtained from this forum.

In that same vain, I think I have the answer to my dilemma regarding having the "correct" belts, but them not fitting. The alternator is a Motorcraft brand, and I suspect has a different pulley diameter than the original alternator. I don't really have an answer for why the P/S pump belt doesn't fit. Oh well, I took AutoXSteve's suggestion andwent and bought longer belts at NAPA. I feel dirty...but at least it will run!

When you getting a crash helmet and magnetic #s for the car? Willow Springs has an event April 29, interested? (I am serious about the questions and just kidding about the event). Anyhow, don't feel dirty, NAPA belts are great! And, just like that school teacher song by Van Halen, I don't feel dirty. Now, are you going to take the afternoon off and get yer pony running? *G*

I would love to do it, BUT.............I need some serious suspension work before I dare take it to an autocross. Perhaps in a few months it (and I) will be ready. I already have the helmet, but would have to get the numbers. I told you before....don't tempt me man!

I got my belts at Autozone and they all fit fine. Don't know if it will help you but here are the sizes:
ALT. - 15/32" x 39.5"
P/S - 15/32" x 49.5"
A/C - 17/32" x 54"
All belts have the 38 degree side "angle". I know you don't have A/C but maybe the info will help anyway.

I'll check those numbers against what I have. Thanks for the help.
