Well, my progress continues. Here is what I did last eve/this morning.

- Reinstalled clutch pedal. The clip had escaped, and I re-installed clip and a plastic bushing that died.
- Adjusted clutch Interestingly, I have an adjustment on the rod that mates with the clutchfork, and there is no mention of it in the shop manual. Maybe it is a 66 part. Anyhow, clutch feels good.
- Installed hood hinges, with lots of white lithium grease.
- Installed hood, and hoodpins
- Aligned hood. Got it to set on the car the best it has ever been! Also, I took out the front rubber hood bumpers, as they are new and caused the hood to lift a little when closed. I currently have those bad hood bumpers in between two pieces of angle aluminum being 'punished' by two C-clamps.
- Aligned the hood to match the lines from the headlight bucket, and ended up with a little larger gap at the cowl that I would desire (about ¼ inch) but that's OK, it is not noticable
- Once the hood was installed properly, I had to loosen up the passenger side fender and push it out a little near the headlight bucket. This action gives a nearly constant .187" space between the fender and the hood on both sides (hehehe - that is a joke, ok?)
- For fun, I installed the grille and actually got my corral, horse and bars mounted. I had to do a little adjustment on the corral and the backspacing to get it to fit correctly under the fiberglass hood, but it will come out fine
- I need to cleanup the grille (I think I am going to paint it semigloss black, since the paint is falling off in a couple of spots) and corral/horse bars.

Anyhow, it's looking really good!

I painted my grill semi-gloss black, and it came out bitchin'! I was thinking of polishing the edges like it came stock, but I like the blacked out look better.

Steve, it's supposed to be a perfect .189" space between the fender and the hood on both sides................ *G*.

Guinness is all I need. The rest is fluff. *G* Watch out, down under, I may actually head down that way soon. If I do, I will be sure to lok you up.
