Maybe it shoud be : please pass the Doofus, but does anybody know the secret to installing outer windshield stainless without damage and/or injury? Or should I just go to a glass shop and get it over with?

When we did ours, we installed the windshield and the
chrome while the sealer was still wet, went right in, really
helps when two do it to keep from scratching the paint. When
we installed the rear window something came up and did't
get the chrome on for a couple days, the sealer had cured
and the chrome wouldn't slide down into the little clamp deals
untill I took a popcicle stick, sharpened it on a grinder like a
chisel and seperated the sealer from the metal surround.
Added a bit of fresh sealer and the chrome went in. Hope
that makes sense.
