Conversation goes like this:
(pleasant very young lady answers the phone)
NTB may I help you?
Need to check on some tires.
What kind of car?
Doesn't matter. Need 4 - 215/60/15 BFG Radial TAs, white letter. Got 'em?
No?
Can you get them by Sat.?
Don't know.
Can you find out?
Sure?
Me - (dum te dum te dum - waiting).
We can get them.
Now what kind where they?
(Grrrrrr - quietly.)
(Give size/brand again.)
Ok, we can get them.
Great how much?
Sorry computer won't tell me because they are special order and I have to place the order before it will tell me.
(Grrr - not so quietly.)
I'm not going to order until I know the price.
Well I'll pretend like I'm punching in an order and get the price, then delete it.
OK? I believe you can do lug-centric balancing.
Yes we balance all the tires we install.
It's a special kind of balancing, not regular.
I'll ask.
Ok sir what kind of car was that?
1966 Mustang Fastback.
(Can hear her yelling to a guy in the background ... a 1966 Mustang Assback. She says it twice).
(I'm crying when she comes back on the phone.)
Sorry we can't get them by Saturday.
(me still laughing)
Ok, I don't care, I'll try someplace else.

Hold onto that Assback. I believe it's very rare. Good luck finding tires for such a rare car, though.

And keep an eye on that rear end, I hear those Assbacks are really hard on them.

I just went through nearly the same scenario trying to find someone in town that could do lug centric balancing. Couldn't find one shop that even knew what I was talking about...
