I read one of Mustang flyers about the contest for the factory stock and one of them would be disqualified, "Braided hoses, colored spark plug wires or non-original engine modifications and body modifications." My question about "non-original engine modifications." Does that also included the carb since I have Edelbrock Q-Jet on my '71 Mach 1 with 429CJ which is similiar to Rochester. I think I have everything in stock except for the carb. Does that still disqualified or it is depend on the head judge? Thanks.

They are both 4MV Q-jets. I highly doubt that unless you tell them they will ever know. No judge has ever known my carb was not a factory original.

Oh ...now they do

They probably didn't check or know to check. Did this have to do with the Woodley show?
By the way congrats, I saw your car but you weren't there at the time.

Usually they allow something like 2 or 3 deviations at our popular vote shows. The MCA are more concerned with the bolt on your driveshaft being correct than having fun.
