I remember at least one person on the site has put AFR heads on there 289. I am wondering if anyone has put a set of Twisted Wedges on their motor? Did you have any piston to valve clearance issues?
Also, I have been looking on the web to determine the stock chamber volume for a 67 289 but havn't had any luck. Anyone know?
I am trying to determine what the compression ratio will be if I swap out to a later model head. I would assume it will go down unless I change the piston.

Thanks,
Glenn

Figure around 9:1 with a 58-60cc head and a .043" gasket.....maybe 9.2:1 tops... only way to know for sure is to CC everything and compute the CR

V/P clearance should be checked whenever making a head/cam change, especially with rotated valve geometry like the TFS heads use.....the notable exception would be a rebuilt stock head on a stock shortblock...

Good luck!
