......well, just for this week /forums/images/icons/wink.gif I need some concreting work done in front of my house, and had nowhere to put the mustang. So, my brother, the PO, offered to take it down to his house for a week.

So he arrived, looking very excited. He knew how anxious i was about even letting the car out of my sight. And with that he kept winding me up

"i reckon i can get it up to at least a hundered!"

Despite the fact he was joking, i wouldnt put the idea past him.

"...and it's diesel, right?"

I am too anxious to be humoured by this /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

Then he starts saying he's gonna take it to work tommorrow!

Now , keep in mind this man sold me the car because, in his words "i just want to get rid of it" /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif

Ever since, he has still been insured in it. Yes i trust him with it, after all he owned it for 2 and a half years, But when he arrived he was in a giddy humor, like one of those people who arrive at your house to test drive your car for sale, with no intention of anything other than a joy ride.

So he fires it up, slams the throttle in reverse, squealing the tires as he backs it out of the driveway - im already seeing huge dents on it next week - and then floors it down the road - All just to wind me up!

But, having never seen it from the outside, as my car roared down the road, i never realised just how monsterous it looks and sounds...ohhhh yes /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

But still../forums/images/icons/frown.gif, its gonna be a LOOOONG week. /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

I know how you feel. I used to get my brother to detail my cars for me before shows ( at the time he was still in school and had plenty of time on his hands) and he would ALWAYS have that same grin on his face. I knew he was just frigg'n with me but I would always think "What If ??" . Oh by the way. I love your car. My 1st car was a 68 Mustang Sprint and I've loved them 68's ever since . I've vowed to get another one as soon as I finish my 64.5 .

I know how you feel. I trust my brother, but it's always scary to let him or anyone else take the car from me for any length of time. He has a tendancy to ride arse a little bit here and there, and I just pray that he doesn't drive the same in my car as he does in his.

I'm sure it'll be fine, although if it were me, I probably would've put a stop to that little burnout display.

Let me guess, your brother is from the south. /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif That would be southern Ireland. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif
Does he say y'all very often? /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
BTW nothing like a brand new concrete driveway. fd

My brother borrowed my car once. He, too, left the parking lot with tires squealing. He did return it in one piece though.

Day 1 over: car never left his driveway (but its still only 7 pm /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif)

Lawn is half dug - will work my arse off tommorrow to get it done faster.
