There's something about a freshly built 289 engine..! We pulled this last December from a 66 convertible, one of the cleanest, rust free convertibles I have ever seen. It is all stock except for intake, carb and fan. Will be going back in tomorrow morning.

I wish my wife would let me bring my motor into the house. Looking great:)
I love that it's inside the house...awesome! Make sure you open a window when you fire it up...LOL

It's a wonderful furniture accessory for your living room, and it looks great, but I've got to ask - why did you go to the trouble to put it in there (especially if it is going back in the car tomorrow)?
Somewhere I have a picture of a me and a friend posing with my 289 on an engine stand in our room in the barracks...on the 3rd floor. Anyone can put a 289 on the ground floor.

Seems like a shame to put it in the car now, versus using it as a "man cave" centerpiece. LOL.

He told his wife to think of it as their Heated Engine Indoor Storage and Dedicated Equipment Assembly Department. (H.E.I.S.D.E.A.D.)

Now that's showing some love.
Now that I re-read the thread...he never SAID he had a wife...we assumed!
The engine is in my buddy’s heated and air conditioned GARAGE. We pulled the engine back in December, he just finished dressing it out.

My dream is to have a 429/460 short block topped off with a set of Boss 429 heads and intake in my man cave. The parts could all be worn out junk, I just want it to be painted and looking all shined up.

Last time I had a motor on a stand in the living room, a guy came by to purchase some parts and remarked 'So, single I see.' Yes, yes I was.

Very nice !!! I assembled my 200 during the winter of '88-89 in my parents' basement, after everything had been machined. A buddy & I carried it up the stairs. Luckily, 30+ years ago I was 30+ years younger, and stronger !! :)

I met a guy on the CobraJet forum. Turns out that he lived about 5 miles from me. He invited me to his VERY nice home to look at some extra parts. I met his SMOKIN' hot wife and in his dining room there was no furniture just a Harley that he was detailing. Oh. The house had a 3 1/2 car attached garage.
Not the first Harley i've seen inside a house. Dave R.

I found the picture. I'm standing on the right holding a Crane cam, and my good friend, Jim Dole is posing on the left. You can see the box for the Holley carb that's on the engine, and the intake is a Torker manifold which I still own. Also, that's a Motorcraft dual point distributor I purchased from Larry's Mustang Parts when it was still in Fullerton. We are standing in my room on the third floor of the barracks at Fort Lewis, WA. I'm 20 or 21 years old in the pic.
