I wish my wife would let me bring my motor into the house. Looking greatThere's something about a freshly built 289 engine..! We pulled this last December from a 66 convertible, one of the cleanest, rust free convertibles I have ever seen. It is all stock except for intake, carb and fan. Will be going back in tomorrow morning.

It's a wonderful furniture accessory for your living room, and it looks great, but I've got to ask - why did you go to the trouble to put it in there (especially if it is going back in the car tomorrow)? There's something about a freshly built 289 engine..! He told his wife to think of it as their Heated Engine Indoor Storage and Dedicated Equipment Assembly Department. (H.E.I.S.D.E.A.D.)I wish my wife would let me bring my motor into the house.
Seems like a shame to put it in the car now, versus using it as a "man cave" centerpiece. LOL.
I found the picture. I'm standing on the right holding a Crane cam, and my good friend, Jim Dole is posing on the left. You can see the box for the Holley carb that's on the engine, and the intake is a Torker manifold which I still own. Also, that's a Motorcraft dual point distributor I purchased from Larry's Mustang Parts when it was still in Fullerton. We are standing in my room on the third floor of the barracks at Fort Lewis, WA. I'm 20 or 21 years old in the pic.Somewhere I have a picture of a me and a friend posing with my 289 on an engine stand in our room in the barracks...on the 3rd floor. Anyone can put a 289 on the ground floor.
