A buddy is looking at a '68 convertible that is supposed to be an s-code. Marti's report shows a discrepancy with the DSO code, exterior and interior colors. I've heard that s-codes have a reinforcing strap on the bottom of the shock towers. Is this true of all s-codes. The car my friend is looking at does not have the reinforcement. For that matter, my x-code does not either.

Thanks for any insight.

I have never heard of S-code cars having the extra bracing before. Could be some were done on the assembly line along with CJ cars which did have it. I once saw an s-code convertible that had the factory bracing, but every other s-code I have seen had standard towers.
