Last Friday I was out in the County working and had to visit a guy. The property was on 20 acres, mostly unkempt, with lots of 'field sculptures.' I saw this coupe behind a boat and some bushes. The owner said he parked it 10 years ago after he wrecked it. (See left front fender & door). He said it has a 305 motor, (Yes, a 305) and knew little else. As usual, he plans to restore it 'one of these days.'

He let me take a look and photograph it. It looks like a basic coupe. Bad red paint job over light blue enamel. Black interior. I noticed it had a tach and the gauge pack over the radio. I didn't see anything else of interest, but I know little about 71-73's. When I opened the door, it smelled like a musty old 'fridge. He commented that he left the door open for a year and leaves and water got in. SSSSHHHHEEESSSHH.

"yep,I am gonna fix her up this year, I was watching that bear jack auction and saw what these things are worth"probably his thoughts---yank the gauges--strip a few savable parts---maybe the drivetrain and send the rest to the shredder while prices are up would be my suggestion.

Is that moss on the fenders?? In this part of the country, cars become planters and "lawn ornaments" all of the time, but I don't believe I've ever seen a car become part of the ecosystem...

I thought my kids leave the front door open too much, but now I see they are in second place!

Have you checked the engine code? It just seems like alot of gages for a 302.
I think I know why he calls it a 305.
Cause the bloody rust has eaten out 60 thou off his cylinder walls!

you see 'em all the time don't you.
The one's that aren't trying to protect them have no intention of ever doing anything with 'em, they just don't know it.

Is that the bottom of a shoe I see on the pass side floor? Did you check if someone fell though the hole in the floor head first and is still there?

I agree that the damage isn't very bad. By the looks of it i doubt the frame is hurt.

That's the 'circle of life' i suppose. The car is parked in a spot that never sees direct sunlight, so it is a prime breeding ground for mold and such.
