What is a good price to set on a 1966 289 C code engine?
Ran good when pulled 3 months ago, burns a little oil &
had good compression. Also a C-4 out off a 1968 Cougar.
Has bell housing and flex plate. Shifted good when pulled.
The reason I'm asking is a couple of people that I met at a
car show are interested in them. Don't want to rip them off,
but don't want to give away either.
TIA, Curtis

I would agree with Charles only if you'll warranty in writing (that means give them their money back if not satisfied) fitness for use, IOW that the engine/trans operate as stated when they are sold.

Otherwise, don't expect to get more than a few hundred dollars for them...most of the engines/trans in my collection were purchased as cores out of wrecked cars in junkyards and rarely cost more than 50.00 each....I never tried running them (cores for race car), but so far they've always been in good condition.

Remember, you can always lower the price if they don't sell and they don't take up much room so they won't hurt you to hang on to...you never know when you might have a use for them..*G*
