I'm torn all the way down to the cam, and now its giving me fits... I can only pull it out a couple millimeters before it gets wedged up in the bearings. AND, since I'm not in a postion right now to pull the motor OR replace the bearings, I gotta be extra careful. Anyone have a good method for getting the cam outta the block? I've threaded a longer bolt into the cam, but still get wedged up at the same point, and can only rotate it until it gets out there that far, then it gets stuck anyhow.

Forget to remove the cam thrust plate?

You may have wear ridges on some of the cam bearings and its hanging up on these. Put the cam sprocket back on just enough to use it as a handle. It will let you leverage up on the cam so it will slide out.
