66 coupe 289 edelbrock 1405 - I am getting occasional missing at idle (especially when the C4 is in gear), occasional hesitation, and the car will cut out completely after it goes through a series of shakes and surges (often when I pull into my driveway after a drive around town. Most of the time it runs fine, but it seems to do this more once the car is warm. Could it be fuel filter? Carb adjustment? Any other ideas? My other question concerning this is where is my fuel filter? I went to take a look at it (has a Carter fuel pump) and did not see any filter on or near the pump and didn't see anything inline. Is there a filter internal to the carb or pump? Or am I just stupid and completely missing something? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Chris

Thanks for the suggestions. Since I have just recently purchased the car I think I will go ahead and replace the plugs and wires, distributor, rotor, possibly even the coil. I don't really know how long they've been in or on the car so I figure it cannot hurt to know that everything is clean and remove those items from the equation. I guess after that I'll look into the carb settings (I've never actually done that before, but I'll give it a shot). Is there anything else I should go ahead and replace while I'm in there (besides adding a fuel filter!). Is there anything I should check in the carb itself to make sure it is unobstructed, since it doesn't seem that I've had a fuel filter? Once again, Thanks
