I recently found an add on the VMF classifieds for a MOROSO deep sump oil pan from VMF member BRADW.
I called and chatted with the guy for atleast a half hour and he seemed to be pretty honest so i sent out a money order the next day.
Well i called about 4 days later to see if he received my MO and he said yes and that it was friday and he will send it UPS and give me a tracking # on monday.
So the next friday comes and i call him to get that tracking # and he doesnt answer his phone so i leave him a message that i havent recieved the pan yet.
He calls me back when im away from my phone to leave me a message saying that he realizes i havent got my pan yet and that he is on his way to a wedding reception and will call me later.
2 weeks go by and i call him leaving a message thats warning him that if i dont get any word from him im gonna get the law involved.
Now what i was wondering is can i just call Yorkville police or should i just grab a baseball bat and wait for him to come home? lol(just kidding)
Yorkville isnt that far from Rockford so anything is possible!
Does anybody know this fool or what?

I don't think Yorkville Police will be able to help you much.

Maybe the Illinois State Police?

If you mailed him the check, it could also be mail fraud, so you can ask the post office about that.

Thanx Zim,I was really hopin someone knew of this dude and his situation.
Is he a crackhead,or is he just some imature idiot that doesnt handle money or business well?
For all i know he got killed in a car crash coming home from the wedding reception?
Eitherway Dekalb isnt too far from there and i go to Dekalb frequently so maybe ill just take a roadtrip and see where in the hell i mailed the Money Order to?
Watch it be an abandoned old farm house or something! Geeesh!

My advice - stay away from him.

Taking matters into your own hands will give him an excuse to get out of his obligations later.

Stay on the high road, and go after him legally.

I would look into the mail fraud thing.

Report him on the main forum. Don't be emotional about it. Just lay out the facts.

If you never get your oil pan - chalk it up to a lesson learned. If the guy isnt that far away next time, offer to meet him somewhere and do the exchange.

Good luck.
