I saved a 65 Fairlane from the scrapper with the original A code 289, C-4 automatic transmission, driveshaft and 8 inch rear axle with 3.00 : 1 A-code locking differential still in it. Just couldn't stand to see it go. The Fairlane's hood, trunk lid, maybe a few other panels are salvageable but the pans, rails, lower quarters and shot.

Well, @OldMil the 8" diff is spoken for just before you, but other parts are still available.

Just wondering if the Fairlane rear is the same width as a Mustang?

I think they are both 57 and 1/4 drum-to-drum. I bolted Mustang wheels to it to move it and it looked like it was made for it haha

Very nice. If the sale falls through let me know. I’m just south of you in Lower Alabama...aka the Fl panhandle.
