hey guys, thinking about doing the modification to my 68 conv. & ripping out the towers & installing IFS & rack & pinion steering. anyone do it? if so, how much trouble alm I in for?

Yep. Not done yet. But if I can do it, most anyone can. Measure 100 times, cut once, weld good.

IFS = Independent Front Suspension

Unless you're running a solid front axle, every Mustang ever produced has IFS.

A '68 engine compartment is wide enough to accommodate a 428. You should only have to widen it to fit a 429/460 or a 4.6L/5.4L.

Alternatively, you could shave your inner shock towers .

so your saying, all these people doing the Mustang II swap are installing 429 engines? come on, you know what I was talking about. why do some people feel they have to correct everyone?
the Mustang II suispension is for better handling & steering( oh, that is the rack & pinion set up will help the steering) I do not want to be incorrect again
