Has anyone installed one of those slick shifters from Lokar that they are marketing as a Mustang bolt in? I'm really liking the looks of them (love Lokar stuff from other experience) and wanted to know if it's something that can be swapped in or if you need to do something before hand with the tranny out, etc?

I put one in my fastback, which has a C-6. We didn't have to remove the tranny, although my small hands came in VERY handy (no pun intended) in getting the cable onto the tranny. There is very, very little room with a C-6, 390, and headers. However, it was worth it, as it looks great and handles beautifully. I also went with the Lokar throttle cable shift set up, which eliminates the accelerator rod through the firewall.

Any chance you have an interior shot of the setup? I've got the same accelerator/tranny cable setup ... pedals etc. If you have a console that will make it even clearer for me since I'd be integrating it into the console.

What indicates the gear? Is it by feel or does that knob light up somehow? I know Lokar sells a shift indicator that would also be interesting to "build in".

I got the LED module and will be installing it in my modified Shelby console. I thought that would look more interesting than the indicator Lokar has that goes on the console around the base of the shifter. We haven't installed that yet, however. But here is a picture of the interior:
